Overlooked

"Often overlooked."

But does it help with people from the industry saying it to me?

So what?

I am pissed off.
Angry.
Enraged.
Mad.

At myself.
For being so trashy.
For being a joke.
For being shit.
Useless.
Push over.

This shall be my painful lesson.

Time, to end this and do it properly.

In eight months' time...

Watch out world, for I am angry. This time, it's my way or the highway.

I have disowned everything and now have everything to gain.

Between the Writing Gigs

FADE IN:

I just rushed through an episode of
Uncommon Crimes. It's a story of how two sisters become part of old Malay ghost stories and how they have come to our Singapore city.

As tired and mentally strained as a dry sponge, I am going to force myself to take a week's break of movies, strawberries and sleep before getting back to my dream project, The Moment.

I have lots to catch up with. Jeez, I'm yet to complete The Children and Man with a Silver Case.

The next few months are going to be interesting.

(Yay to method screenwriting...)

The first porn star to emerge from Singapore, she became one of the most internationally recognised Singaporean icons, a controversial public figure and the focus of feverish media attention. Haunted by memories of home, history and her religious upbringing, she struggled to reinvent herself as Grace Quek, digital diva and matrix mistress.

In the book of Samuel

1 Samuel 2: 1 - 10

1 Then Hannah prayed and said:
"My heart rejoices in the LORD;
in the LORD my horn is lifted high.
My mouth boasts over my enemies,
for I delight in your deliverance.

2 "There is no one holy like the LORD;
there is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God.

3 "Do not keep talking so proudly
or let your mouth speak such arrogance,
for the LORD is a God who knows,
and by him deeds are weighed.

4 "The bows of the warriors are broken,
but those who stumbled are armed with strength.

5 Those who were full hire themselves out for food,
but those who were hungry hunger no more.
She who was barren has borne seven children,
but she who has had many sons pines away.

6 "The LORD brings death and makes alive;
he brings down to the grave and raises up.

7 The LORD sends poverty and wealth;
he humbles and he exalts.

8 He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes
and has them inherit a throne of honor.
"For the foundations of the earth are the LORD's;
upon them he has set the world.

9 He will guard the feet of his saints,
but the wicked will be silenced in darkness.
"It is not by strength that one prevails;

10 those who oppose the LORD will be shattered.
He will thunder against them from heaven;
the LORD will judge the ends of the earth.
"He will give strength to his king
and exalt the horn of his anointed."

New International Version.

This came from a true hearted woman who is happy that God answered her prayers. She gave birth to a son.

Have your true hearted prayers been answered yet?

Citizen Dog

Finally, after over two years, Citizen Dog is coming to our screens!

I watched the film at an Asian Film Fest and I highly recommend it. It's so good, I immediately placed an order for the DVD the moment I stepped out of the cinema.

Directed by Wisit Sasanatieng, I first took notice of his works on Nang Nak. Then he moved on to the very surreal Tears of the Black Tiger, a mix of Thai culture and Western. He's been keen with pink and blue and has been very surreal in his narration.

Citizen Dog is a love story set in the city of Bangkok.

Look out for it!

The opening music Korn (Before) is performed by Modern Dog. The song was a huge hit in Thailand.

I added this opening sequence instead of the trailer because it speaks in a louder volume.

So a big congrats to the writer/director! I'm so proud to be involved even just as an associate producer.

Cathay might have plans to screen it soon, so look out for it!

Here's to you! A big warm pat on the shoulder!

My Femme Fatales

As I continue to write the Uncommon Crimes series, my favorite femme fatale inside, Madam Hong suddenly takes an even more sensual style as I play Portishead on my iTunes.

Especially the track, Glory Box - It will make you feel a sense of lost, anger, being tragic, longing and still being sexy at it.

Whoa, I'm in love already.

I begin to think of my previous Femme Fatales.

*A teenage Girl behind a confession table in Child
*There's a mysterious Mya who stalks the mind of the Stranger in The Undying (____)
*Jane, a mistress involved in a murder of another woman in Fallen
*And my upcoming Alicia in...well...something for you to look out for...

"Give me a reason, to love you...."

So sexy, I could cry.

Chance

Someone from the past emailed me, saying that Life is about taking chances. I thought I replied since we haven't been in touch for a long while due to some...

So far whatever I have been trying to say to this someone has been mistaken all the way.

It's like throwing the dice,
Setting your foot on Chance,
Take a Chance card,
Read the Chance card,
And the Chance card says,

"Go to Jail. Do not pass Go."

If she really wants to reconnect, shouldn't the old image shred and begin anew since IT'S BEEN TWO BLOODY YEARS?

Sigh...pay fifty or roll a double to continue...

As Chun XI and I discuss work on the bus en route to The Picturehouse, this girl observed us all the way.

I took out a camera to take her picture. She nodded when I showed the camera. So I took it.

Stop and Listen!

People are continuing to mistake one another.
So please stop, and listen! Really Listen!
Stop the misunderstandings!

Quit the fighting!

JD Speaks!

After livejournals, after wordpresses, after several other blogging sites, I'm settled on blogger.com!

I speak here! Hear me roar!
